Obituary Mary McLain Here I am Lord, be not afraid on eagles wings Mary was called home Saturday, February 14, 2009, to join her husband, Trevor in heaven. Mary was born in Glasgow, Scotland on October 27, 1915, to James and Agnes (Kelly) Harkins. Mary came to the United States on July 27, 1933 at the age of 8, living in Seattle, WA till 1941 when she moved to Tacoma. At the age of 18, Mary went to work in the navel shipyards in Bremerton during the war. After the war, she left to work at Weyerhaeuser Company in Tacoma as Supervisor of data entry. Mary and Trevor were married on September 8, 1959. She retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1973 to take care of Trevor till his passing on May 16, 1981. Mary loved to work in the garden, enjoyed traveling with Trevor, reading and entertaining their many friends. Mary leaves behind Kathryn Brodt of Troy, Michigan (Trevor's cousin), Pam and Dan Harkins of Edmond, WA (Mary's cousin), Grace Harkins of Seattle (deceased), Mrs. Nellie McMahon (cousin, deceased), H.J. McLain (Trevor's cousin, deceased) and many friends and co-workers. Mary and Trevor had no children. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Friday, February 20, 2009 at 7:00 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel.
