Obituary Mary Janet Dargan McDonald, 80, known as Tunie, died Sunday, April 14, 2013 in Lakewood, Washington. The daughter of the late William V. and Edna (Monahan) Dargan, she was born on May 26, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and attended Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois majoring in elementary education. Tunie moved to Seattle after college and taught second grade at Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bellevue. She was an avid gardener and member of The Garden Club of America, The International Ikebana Club and a supporter of Lakewold Gardens. Tunie was actively involved in Tacoma Junior League and Catholic Woman's Club. She also enjoyed golf, reading and traveling. Tunie is survived by two sons, Peter McDonald and Andrew McDonald (Kay); granddaughters, Kate and Jane McDonald; daughter in law, Kim McDonald; grandson, Charles McDonald; granddaughter, Abby McDonald, and brother in law Bruce McDonald (Nancy). She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Edna Dargan; husband, Charles (Pete) McDonald; and son, Charlie McDonald. A private graveside will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Seattle, WA.
