Obituary Evelyn Everson was born on June 30, 1927 in British Columbia, Canada to Walter and Josephine McLean, and passed away on October 30, 2011 in Gig Harbor, WA at the age of 84. Evelyn's passions and interests included: travel, cooking, gardening and a love of nature, especially animals. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, John Everson, Sr., and her sisters, Bernice Nix and Dorothy Triplett. She is survived by her daughter Joan Cook (Cliff), son John A. Everson, Jr., grandchildren Christopher Cook, Shannon Larsen (Nicolai), Sean Cook (Klara), Michael Everson, Rachael Everson, unborn great-granddaughter Baby Cook, brother Douglas McLean, and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn, whose Catholic faith was a foundation of her life, was a member of St. Patrick Church for 62 years. She attended St. Leo Grade School, and graduated from St. Leo High School in 1945. Much of Evelyn's working career was spent in the banking industry, having worked at United Bank, Puget Sound Bank, and Key Bank. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church, North 12th and J, 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 7, 2011. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Patrick Church, 1001 N. J St., Tacoma, WA 98403. Evelyn's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Family First and Franciscan Hospice for taking such good care of her during her final months.
