Obituary Mary Catherine Davis On June 10, 2015, Mary Catherine Davis died peacefully at the age of 94. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her children and family at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tacoma, WA. Mary was born on March 17, 1921 in Seattle, WA and grew up on a farm in the Graham area. Her beloved husband, Albert P. Davis, preceded her in death. She was born to parents, Daniel and Margaret (Meehan) Keane, originally from Dungarvan, County Waterford, Ireland. Mary was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, and she was actively involved in the YMCA fitness program for over 20 years where she enjoyed spending time with her friends and loyal supporters. She cherished her Hilltop home where she lived for 54 years and felt blessed by wonderful neighbors. She was proud of her Irish heritage and loved her visit to Ireland where she was able to meet with family and old family friends. She was a dual citizen of Ireland and the United States. She graduated from Kapowsin High School in 1940. During World War II, she held various civilian positions to support the war effort. Mary retired from Tacoma General Hospital Food Services in 1985 and liked taking continuing education classes at TCC. Mary is survived by her six children, Judy Gomez, Marianne Blumhoff (Ray), Patti Crane, Brenda Davis, Daniel Davis (Denise) and Molly Davis; sister, Margaret Keane; 11 grandchildren, Gail Crawford, Pat Gomez, Mona Cantrell, Trisha Stuart, Michael Blumhoff, Sean Blumhoff, Brendan Davis, Frank Wilson, Conner Davis, Austin Davis and Bridget Davis; 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren. The family is grateful to Mary's caring neighbors, emergency response personnel, and the staff at St. Joseph Hospital who comforted her in her final days. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 12:10pm at St. Leo Catholic Church (So. 13th and Yakima St., Tacoma). A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 7:00pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
