Obituary Together Again Mary Connors 3/25/1917 - 11/25/2005 Mary was born to Joseph and Helen Surina, March 25, 1917 here in Tacoma. Mary spent almost her entire life in Tacoma's North End. She attended Holy Cross Grade School, Mason J.H., and graduated from Stadium High School in 1935. This past May she was proud of the fact that she made it to her 70th high school reunion. In 1948 she married Larry Connors, who was her husband for 57 years until his passing this last August. Throughout her life Mary was a perfect example of strength and devotion. Her strength came from her faith in the Lord Almighty. Even with the tragic loss of two daughters, Marsha and Cindy, she continued on, knowing that they were in God's hands and that we all have crosses to bear before we can enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Devotion means love. Love of GOD, her husband Larry, her 5 children and 7 grandchildren. Always putting them first before attending her own needs. All through her life she developed and cherished the many friends she made. From childhood friends to the more recent friendships she made at her winter home in Cocopah Bend RV Resort in Yuma, AZ. It was easy to become a friend of Mary; she was sincere, a great listener and a very caring person. When she smiled, her smile would light up a room. Well, Mom, now that GOD has taken you from us, you can smile again, but now your smile will light the heavens!! WE ARE ALL GOING TO MISS YOU, LOVE YOUR FAMILY. Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, Joseph and Helen Surina, sister Lena, brothers Marion, Rudy, and Joe, her husband Larry, and daughters Marsha and Cindy. She is survived by her brother Frank Surina (Mavis), sons Steve Connors (Maria), Pat Connors (June), and daughter Teresa Schindler (Ted); seven grandchildren: Chris, Tim & Matt Connors, Megan McKeough, Eddie & Nathan Mock, and Sam Schindler.
