Obituary Madeline Byers, the ultimate cook and homemaker, went home to be with our Lord on Feb. 3, 2007. She was 81. Madeline was one of 7 girls born to Antone and Mary Rose on May 8, 1925 in Dighton, Mass. Shortly after WWII, Madeline moved to the West Coast where she met and married George T. Byers. They moved to Tacoma in 1952, where they raised five children and enjoyed over 50 years of marriage. Madeline will always be remembered for her remarkable cooking ability. No guest was ever allowed to leave her home without offer or preparation of a wonderful meal. After her children had grown and left home, Madeline enjoyed the art of making porcelain dolls. Her talents can be seen in all her families' homes. Madeline was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church for over 45 years. She was preceded in death by her husband and son Michael, sisters Ethel and Alice. Madeline is survived by her son Bob (Gretchen), daughters Mary (Rob), Allison, Suzanne; grandchildren Aaron (Justine), Kyle, Kristin (Dan), Jonathan, Emily, Joel, Lexi, Jordin, Gillian; great-grandson Jacob; sisters Elsie, Mildred, Florence, Lorraine (Tony) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to give a special thank you to their Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Tony who they could not have done without these last couple of weeks. We also thank the Lord for all other family and friends that were so helpful and supportive. Our many thanks to her caregiver Tangie, Hospice, Dr. Frank Senecal and Pat and his entire staff. Celebration of Madeline's life will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Church on Feb. 8, 2007 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Franciscan Hospice or charity of your choice in Madeline's name.
