Obituary MARTHA MARY KOENIG MAY 9, 1908 ?" DEC. 14, 2008 100 BEAUTIFUL YEARS Born Ludlow, Massachusetts, raised in Great Falls, Montana, graduated from Great Falls High School. Martha arrived in Tacoma with family in the late 1920's where she then met and married John Koenig (deceased in 1987) in 1929. For 100 years, Martha lived a full and productive life. Survived by her 3 children: Richard, Theodore, Barbara (Raabe), 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was active in her church including CDA Court Tacoma #977, and volunteered her art, accounting and music talent with the elderly. Martha continued many of her hobbies into her nineties, including bridge, cooking, sewing, golf, travel and gardening. She also enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren fondly remember the many gatherings at her home. Martha maintained her childhood friendships throughout her life, and although she has out lived her contemporaries, they remained close in her heart. Her working years involved secretarial, bookkeeping & real estate. After retirement, she took up painting, producing many beautiful pictures that her family treasures. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited Friday, December 19, 2008 at 7:00 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Solid Ground Development, please designate (LTCOP) Long Term Care Ombudsman's Program,1501 N. 45th St., Seattle, WA 98103.
