Martha L. Gius

Obituary Martha Gius Martha Gius passed away September 9, 2015, at the age of 84. The youngest of four children born to Lawrence V. and Maria Gius, Martha was raised in Fife and graduated from Fife High School. Martha lived in Tacoma for many years, initially working at the Hunt and Mottet Company, and later, in the Trust Department of the Bank of California. Martha was an avid fan of the Mariners and Seahawks. She possessed a sharp wit and a dry sense of humor. Martha enjoyed keeping up on current events and spending time with family during the holidays. She was always willing to engage in a game of Monopoly or other board game and was the official rules interpreter breaking out the rule book when there was a question. Among her hobbies, Martha enjoyed creating intricately decorated Fabergé-like eggs. After retiring, Martha moved back to Fife where she enjoyed gardening and living near her brother, August; and sister, Judy. Martha was preceded in death by her brothers, Leslie and August; sister, Giuditta, and one nephew. Martha is survived by several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Weatherly Inn, and particularly the Memory Care staff for their gentle care of Martha. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Martha's name to the St. Vincent DePaul fund c/o St. Martin of Tours Church or the Fife High School Scholarship Fund. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Fife, WA on Friday September 18, at 11:00 am, with a Rosary at 10:30 am.
