Obituary Marjorie May (Rice) Delisle Marjorie May (Rice) Delisle, 78, passed away on February 24, 2014 at her home in Lakewood, Washington. She was born on August 28, 1935 in Beverly, Massachusetts to George and Mildred (Foye) Rice. Marjorie grew up in Salem, Massachusetts where she worked for a time at the House of Seven Gables and graduated from Salem High School in 1954. Marjorie married CSM Arthur Joseph Delisle, Jr. (Ret.) in 1954 in Salem, Massachusetts. On December 26, 2013 they celebrated their 60th year of marriage. Marjorie was a devoted military wife; which meant relocating to many states, 3 tours in Germany and raising seven children alone while Arthur went to Vietnam. After 24 years they retired in Lakewood, WA. She enjoyed working in the garden, painting and drawing. She is fondly remembered for her passion for care-giving, which was demonstrated by her work in childcare, Catholic Community Services, and for the Department of Veterans Affairs as a pharmacy technician. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, George Ernest and Mildred Julia Rice; and two brothers, John and Robert Rice. Marjorie is survived by her husband, CSM Arthur J. Delisle, Jr. (Ret.) of Lakewood, WA; her seven children, Evelina (Bryan) Schmauder of Lakewood, WA, Patricia R. Delisle of Lakewood, WA, Arthur J. (Myong) Delisle, III of Lakewood, WA, George E. (Hamako) Delisle of Warner, GA, Mildred J. Delisle of Marysville, WA, Marjorie (Myron) Fritts of Lakewood, WA, and Joan F. (Wayne) Block of Moorhead, MN; her two sisters, Eleanor (Norman) Hayes of Salem, MA, and Barbara Perron of Cranston, RI; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11:00am at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 10508 - 112th Street SW, Lakewood, WA 98498 followed by a reception. Viewing will be held at 9:30am to be followed by Rosary at 10:30am also at the church. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Delisle Memorial Fund which was set up to assist in raising Rachel Delisle's children who tragically lost their mother, February 15, 2014.
