Obituary Virginia Pifer Johnson Virginia Pifer Johnson, 88 died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, February 23, 2008. Born in Tacoma in 1919, Virginia spent nearly all her life in the Seattle/Tacoma area. She grew up in Parkland and attended Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Washington to become a teacher. Virginia was an active civic and community member in Seattle. Her many activities included the Queen Anne Fortnightly, the Seattle Milk Fund, Women's University Club, Sunset Club, Seattle Symphony, ACT Theater and her bridge club. She was an avid reader and world traveler with adventures throughout the world. She loved spending time at the family's summer home on Vashon Island. Virginia was predeceased by her husbands Bert Senner, Drury Pifer, and Richard Johnson. She is survived by her son David Senner (Patricia) of Gig Harbor, daughter Barbara Corson (Thomas) of Boulder, Colorado, and son John Senner (Susie) of Olympia. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her family and friends will miss her deeply. A celebration of Virginia's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 29, in Ascension Episcopal Church, 2330 Viewmont Way West, in the Magnolia area of Seattle.
