Obituary Marion Gerry Jones "Because I could not stop for death, he kindly stopped for me" Emily Dickinson Marion Gerry Jones was born March 16, 1921 in Tacoma, WA. She was the eldest of four children born to Williard Hall of Bonaparte, Iowa and Helga Ostlund of Hamrange, Sweden. She is survived by her children, Wayne Gerry, Diane Griggs (Larry), all of Corvallis OR, David and James Gerry (Deanna) of Tacoma, and Nancy Erdman of Maui, Hawaii. She also is survived by her brothers, Philip Hall (Grace) of Olympia, and John Hall (Phyllis) of Stanwood, WA. Her daughter, Gilda Brown, her sister, Lorraine Youngren and her loving husband, Billy Jones, predecease her. In addition, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren survive her. Mother spent the final four years at Heartwood Extended Care where she made many new friends. They cared for her with great dignity, calling her "the princess". She suffered a stroke on Mother's Day and died on Saturday, May 22nd. Many thanks to the staff at Heartwood, Evercare, and Franciscan Hospice for their loving care. Her service is Wednesday, May 26th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception at Gaffney Funeral Home, 1002 South Yakima Ave. Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home 253-572-6003.
