Obituary Marilyn Bridgan, beloved wife, mother, and grandma, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, Monday, December 5, 2011, following a brief, valiant fight with cancer. Born in Knoxville Tennessee, she came to Tacoma in the early 1970's as a very young bride and mother with her husband, who was stationed at Fort Lewis. Marilyn devoted 28 years to teaching. An inspired educator, she had a passion for finding meaningful and relevant ways to motivate and challenge young people to succeed. Marilyn was the first teacher to conduct a webcast teaching session from aboard a NOAA research vessel in the Pacific Ocean. A Master's graduate of the University of Washington, she was a proficient thinker and scientist who confidently confirmed that life is the gift of a loving God who is the creator and designer of all that exists. She is survived by her loving family. A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at Destiny City Church, 3102 South 23rd (and Pine), Tacoma, at 2pm, Saturday, December 10th. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Discovery Institute, http://www.discovery.org/membershipReg/ or a charity of choice. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
