Obituary Marijane Argue Flinn June 5, 1920 - March 15, 2012 Marijane Argue Flinn passed away peacefully on March 15, 2012 at the age of 91. She was born June 5, 1920 to Dr. and Mrs. Hiram S. Argue (Anna Watrous) in Tacoma, WA. She grew up in North Tacoma and attended Sherman Grade School, Mason Junior High, and graduated from Stadium High School. Marijane was very active in Girl Scouts and loved attending Scout camp every summer. She also spent many happy summers with her family at their summer residence on Steilacoom Lake. Marijane was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at the University of Washington. She was also very active in the Tacoma Junior League. Following WWII, she went to Germany to work in the Special Services Corps, where she managed a USO Club in Stutgaard. She traveled throughout Europe while living there. Upon her return, she became manager and head buyer for the Better Dress Department at Rhodes Department Store in downtown Tacoma. She took great pride in outfitting the Daffodil Court each year. In 1966, she married Larry Flinn and retired from Rhodes to assist him in his floral supply business. Marijane and Larry loved San Juan Island and retired to their beautiful home in Smugglers Cove. They spent their winters in Fountain Hills, AZ. Marijane loved her friends, family and playing bridge. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2009. She is survived by her sister, Helen M. Middleton, step-daughter Nancy Nolan (Bill), step-son Stephen Flinn, step-grandson Michael Mallas, step-granddaughter Leah Manzari, niece Sally Middleton James (Chris), nephew Jim Middleton and grand nephews Matt and Brian James. A Memorial Service will be held at Gaffney Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
