Marie T. Mchugh

Obituary Marie McHugh No Fear Marie T. McHugh was born February 20, 1922 in Washington, D.C. She passed away June 13, 2008 at the age of 86. Marie moved to Tacoma with her parents and younger sister Betty at the age of 5. She attended St. Patrick's grade school, graduated from Aquinas Academy and attended one year at Marylhurst College in Lake Oswego, Oregon. She then worked at Fort Lewis until her marriage to Anthony J. McHugh in 1943. After her marriage, homemaking and children occupied her life. In addition, Marie was an avid tennis player and played tennis regularly until she was 80. Also, Marie enjoyed watching college football, particularly the Fighting Irish. Marie loved St. Patrick's Church where she was a parishioner for 81 years. Marie is survived by her children: Jim (Mary Lane) McHugh; Marianne McHugh; Frank (Cheryl) McHugh; Connie (Bill) McHugh Gresmeyer and Sally McHugh; six grandchildren: Julie Di Martino Baker, Brian McHugh, Kerry McHugh, Bobby McHugh, Molly McHugh and Laramie Ann McHugh; brother: Tom O'Leary and sister: Rosemary Mallon. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 7:00 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Remembrances in lieu of flowers may be made to Guadalupe House at 1417 S. G Street, Tacoma, WA; Hospitality Kitchen at 1323 S. Yakima Ave., Tacoma, WA and Crohns and Colites Foundation (CCFA) at 9 Lake Bellevue Drive, Suite 203, Bellevue,WA.
