Marie Margaret Lovrovich

January 12, 1922 — November 12, 2013

Obituary Marie M. Lovrovich January 12, 1922 ~ November 12, 2013 Mom passed peacefully at her home after visits by family and friends. She was born in Bellingham, WA to Simone and Jovanna Bogetich who immigrated to the US from Croatia. She lived her life in Tacoma and Gig Harbor, WA. She graduated from Stadium High School and worked for 20 years in the Pierce County District Court. She was a loving mother and homemaker raising four children with her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Tony Lovrovich, Sr. who preceded her in death. Mom was active in the Croatian community and held fast to her heritage and traditions. She was happiest cooking, baking and entertaining, especially during the holidays. She loved baking the Croatian breads, pies and cookies that her family and friends waited for all year to enjoy on those special occasions. She was adept at flower arranging, loved to read, enjoyed the symphony, thrived on family get-togethers, and loved to travel. But she was always happy to return home. She thought the NW was the most beautiful place - where she could see the water and mountains. Mom also donated her time to the St. Vincent de Paul Society through her church activities. She is survived by her sons, Tony Jr. (Sharon) and David; daughters, Yvonne Lynott (Greg) and Maryann Meyer (John); six grandchildren, Carrie, Summer, Will, Adam, Michael and Andrew; and four great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 7:00pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Gig Harbor followed by a luncheon. Interment at Haven of Rest. Donations may be made in Mom's honor to Catholic Community Services or Franciscan Foundation Dialysis Unit, P.O. Box 1502, Tacoma, WA 98401.
