Marie A. Engle

Obituary Marie A. Engle, 85, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2006. Born in Los Angeles, she led a full and active life. She was one of the first women bank managers in the state and retired after 35 years in the banking industry. She was a member of the Fife Chamber of Commerce, the Washington Women's Business Association, Catholic Womans Club and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She married Harry Engle on June 21, 1942 who enjoyed a career with the United States Air Force, and together they raised 3 children. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1994 and she is survived by daughter Harriet A. Cummings, of Gig Harbor, son Richard L. Engle of Pittsburgh, and daughter Cathy (Bob) Poncin of San Diego; 5 grandchildren, sister: Henryetta Kerrigan of Bellevue, nieces, nephews and long time friend, Bob Sawyer. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 11AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Tacoma. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
