Obituary Margaret Anne Wojtanowicz Margaret Anne Wojtanowicz, 72, a lifetime resident of Tacoma, passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Margaret was born September 6, 1943 to Virgil and Doris Barkley (Browne). She was the second of ten siblings. After graduating from St. Leo's High School she married the love of her life, John Wojtanowicz. They had eight children. Margaret was very involved in her church and community, including her children's schools, Holy Cross, St. Charles, and Bellarmine. She was accomplished at crocheting, an avid reader and puzzle builder, and a huge fan of Roy Rogers, Tinker Bell, and unicorns. She was reunited in heaven with her son Heath John, her parents, and her brother Tom Barkley. She will be greatly missed by her husband, John, of 54 years, her children Amy Dahmen (Dave), Lisa Phillips (Sean), Brent (Lisa), Joel (Wendy), Garth (Tabata), Zachary (Sara), and Adam (Ashley), and 14 almost 15 grandchildren, Bethany, Claire, Ariel, Abigail, Griffin, Camille, Garrett, Mackenzie, Allie, Isaac, Logan, Miranda, Max, Madelynn, and Audrey Margaret (due in July). She is also survived by her sisters Nancy Jonker, Rose Mary Berger, Judy Nilsen, and Rita Barkley, and her brothers Steve, Dave, Jim, and Bob Barkley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends and classmates. A funeral mass and reception will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 26th, at 11am. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at Gaffney Funeral Home on Monday, April 25th, at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to St. Charles Food Bank or Nativity House in Margaret's memory.
