Margaret Carper Bergstrom

March 24, 1925 — December 24, 2011

Obituary Margaret (Marge) Carper was born and raised in Syracuse, Nebraska. After graduating from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Denver, Colorado, she served as a Civil Service nurse at Ft. Eustis, Virginia. She married her beloved husband, Lt. Colonel Richard (Dick) Bergstrom, on June 20, 1952, and together they raised their five children: Dianne, Richard, Dean, Eric and Marianne. After traveling with the military, they retired to Tacoma in 1972. Marge spent many years working as a nurse, teaching Allied Health students at TCC and serving St. Charles Borromeo Parish as the business manager. She is remembered for her warm smile, which she shared with everyone and her caring and loving eagerness to help others. She will always be remembered for her strong and committed love for her husband, children and grandchildren. Marge is survived by her husband of 59 years, their five children, spouses, and 12 grandchildren. Vigil at Gaffney's Funeral Home, Wednesday December 28th at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Thursday December 29th at 11:00 AM. Private family burial at Mount Tahoma National Cemetery. Memorials should be gifted to the charity of personal choice.
