Obituary Luke "LUKESTRONG" Alexander Beardemphl 8/25/1990 ~ 5/22/2015 Luke successfully broke the bonds of his illness and entered The Kingdom of Heaven on May 22, 2015. Luke lived a short but significant life through his demonstration of faith, will to live, love and friendship for those who know him. For those of us left behind, Luke will forever serve as an inspiration for living a meaningful life. Luke graduated from Stadium High School in 2008. He received an Associate's Degree in Science from Highline Community College where he was awarded a soccer scholarship, as well as, the "Academic Achievement Award" in science and the "Scholastic Achievement Award" in science. Luke was Highline's chemistry student of the year. Luke was enrolled in pre-med/bio-physics at Whitworth University upon his death. Luke is an accomplished soccer goalkeeper, who played at the most elite level in his youth and he received a college scholarship to the University of Hawaii at Hilo which Luke was never able to accept, due to his illness. A few of Luke's favorite things are watching soccer with his brother, entertaining his little sister with memes of kittens, and hunting and fishing with his father and uncles. Luke is survived by, and will be deeply missed by a large and loving family including his grandparents, David and Iris Beardemphl; his grandparents, Hank and Carol DeVore; his father, Michael Beardemphl; his mother, Stephanie (DeVore) Beardemphl; his brother, Rhett, 22; and sister, Gabrielle, 18. Luke's family wishes to thank the UW Medical Center and SCCA doctors and staff for their excellent care of Luke. A Celebration of Luke's Life will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:00pm at Central Lutheran Church (409 N. Tacoma Ave. Tacoma, WA 98403), with a reception immediately following at the Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club located two blocks away. Our hearts may be broken but our spirits will always be LUKESTRONG.
