Obituary Louis Stanley Grenier was born in Tacoma on July 15, 1917 to the late Edward C. and Marie (Meier) Grenier. His loving wife Ellen passed away in August after a wonderful 67 years of marriage, and he is survived by his sister Catherine (Martin) Schumacher of Naperville, Illinois, sisters-in-law; Nadine Davies and Florence Grenier and brother-in-law; Alex Kozlowski as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard T. Grenier and James A. Grenier. Louis attended Bellarmine Prep and the University of Washington. During World War II, Louis served as the Debarkation Officer and Asst. Adjutant at Madigan General Hospital. Louis was a well known Northwest band leader, noted for his 27 years at the Top of the Ocean, and for over 30 years was an insurance broker in the North Proctor Street District. For many years, he conducted a men and boys choir at St. Patrick's Church. Louis was a former president of the Tacoma Serra International, Proctor Business Men's Club, Commodore of the Tacoma Yacht Club and an avid boater. He was an active member of Holy Cross Parish, serving on the finance committee, the Parish council and was a member of the church choir for many years. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 17, 2007, 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited on Friday, November 16, 2007, 7:00 pm in the Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel.
