Lorraine Mildred Hawkins

Obituary Lorraine Hawkins passed away at the age of 82, September 24, 2006. In spite of years of illness, she was always happy, fun-loving, kind and thoughtful of others. She was a pillar in the 38th Street community as a business owner of the Carousel Pet Shop form 1963 to 1976. She was involved in various organizations and clubs, American Legion, Orthopedic Guild, Pinochle Club, Good Sam Camp Club. They were avid travelers, but eventually settled as snow birds in Apache Jct, AZ. She was a champion bowler and dedicated baseball fan. Her greatest pride was her 64 years of marriage and her family. She is survived by her husband John, of Spanaway; 2 children: Kenneth, of Roy, and Dianna Hemmi, of Tacoma; 3 grandchildren: Charlie Hemmi, of California, Peter Hemmi of Puyallup, and Theresa Norris of Tacoma; 5 great grandchildren; a sister Bernice Phillips of Poulsbo, and other extended family members. Rosary will be recited Thursday, September 28, 2006, 7:00 pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel and Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 29, 2006, 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
