Lori Marie Narigi

Obituary Lori Narigi, a life long resident of Tacoma and Gig Harbor Washington, passed peacefully on March 7th at her home surrounded by her family. She had faced a valiant battle with cancer the last five years. Lori was born to Paul and Nara Narigi on November 18th, 1955. Lori attended St. Patrick's grade school, Aquinas High School and Washington State University as a Summa Cum Laude graduate. She continued her studies at the University of Washington where she earned her master's degree in Social Work. Lori spent her entire professional career as a national licensed social worker and a mental health and child specialist with additional expertise in treating sexually aggressive youth to young adults. She began her career 35 years ago at Good Samaritan Hospital and continued with MultiCare until her death. Known for her directness, Lori however always presented in a caring and loving fashion, her clients will miss this lady that helped so many find their way through their youth, teen and young adult years. She was highly regarded in her field. Lori also held her family, dear friends and colleagues close to her heart. She was a work-alcoholic by the definition but loved hosting special times at the family beach house, her 4th of July celebrations, watching her cougars and attending games, her Seahawk Sundays all made special days that were enjoyed with family and friends. Her main hobbies were watching athletic events and shopping at street fairs. She loved the Puget Sound and for the last 27 years enjoyed her time in Gig Harbor, the sunsets were her favorite. Lori was extremely close to many of her dear friends from grade school though college and she was always considered a part of their family and that special aunt to their children, serving as god mother to several. Lori is survived by her sister Cris (Federal Way) brother John and sister in-law Roxane (Monterrey Ca, ) nephews Dominick (Redding Ca) and Anthony (who preceded her in death) along with her parents Paul and Nara Narigi and Albert and Inez Gennai her beloved aunt. She is also survived by numerus cousins. Close friends and family members were also a big part of Lori's life and especially during her sickness and time of need, they were all there, Cris,(sister) , Rosie, Nancy, JoAnn, Jennifer, Charlene(cousin)and Roxane, (sister in law). Special thank you to the MultiCare Hospice team and the entire MultiCare organization and Right at Home for their support. A celebration of life will be held on Friday March 15th at 11am, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, located at 1001 North J st, Tacoma, Wa. 98403. Reception in parish hall following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Paul and Nara Narigi Scholarship fund for Bellarmine Prep High School 2300 S Washington St, Tacoma, WA 98405. Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home
