Lois Ann Jacques Nelson

Obituary Lois Ann Jacques Nelson, born July 23, 1924 in Grand Junction Colorado, died quietly after a comfortable decline on May 11, 2018 at her home in Tacoma at the age of 93. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis S. and Anne M. Jacques, her brother Robert A. Jacques, her former husband Frank Nelson, and her niece Margaret Jacques Reynolds. She is survived by her brother and sister in-law Daniel and Aileen Jacques, and her nieces and nephews Robert Jacques, Steven Jacques (Yaeko), Kathleen Jacques Greene (Charlie), Kevin Jacques (Janet), Sara Jacques Bilski (John), Anne Jacques Phelps, Christopher Jacques (Donna), Catherine Jacques Boardman (James), John Jacques, and great nieces and nephews Christian, Conan, Jolene, Owen, Anna, Emily, Cathy Lynn, Molly, Elizabeth, Ellen, Isabelle, Catherine, Paulina, Jack, Charlie, Kevin, Maggie, Lauren, and great-great nieces and nephews Cole, Simone, Jude, Julian, James, Oliver, and Lia. This remarkable doyenne received her B.A. in Business Administration at the University of Puget Sound, and attained a Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington and a Certified Public Accountant License. Lois retired after a significant career as a Senior Administrator for the Internal Revenue Service in Seattle. Lois' greatest work was her exceptional devotion, dedication, and ministration to her family. Her support for her family was boundless in counsel, support, and, at all times, humor. We will remember her glinting eye, rapier wit, sweet smile, and most of all her laugh. And the kisses. We live folded into her arms of love. Our family wishes to extend our grateful thanks to the amazing staff at Laurel House at Narrows Glen Retirement Community in Tacoma for their tender expert care of Lois. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital. The Rosary will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Gaffney Funeral Home , and a Funeral Mass for Lois will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tacoma at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018.
