Lois Mertz

Obituary Lois L. Mertz Born on September 18, 1922, in Maynard, MN to Charles and Cecelia McNeil. Passed away on June 24, 2005 in University Place, WA with her Family by her side. Lois is preceded in death by her husband Carl and son Robert. Lois and Carl moved their family of six to Tacoma, WA in 1951, where she worked for Hygrade, then as a bartender and retired from UPS where she worked as a housekeeper at Smith Hall. Lois was such a spitfire who loved to entertain her family and friends. She also loved teaching her grandkids how to fry chicken make jam, pickles and bake cookies and pies. Grandma, we will so very much miss your fried chicken. Lois is survived by her children Donna (Jay) Beach, Carla (Tom) Hunter, Janice Ormsby, Ron (Chris) Mertz and Bill Mertz; grandchildren Kathy (Greg) Feroglia, Kari (Pat) Lambert, Tom (Jan) Langton, Kristin Langton, Kim (Scott) Tveten, Gregory (Peter) Ormsby, David (Shauna) Beach, Jeffrey (Jackie) Langton, Jason Mertz, Anna Mertz, Jennifer Beach, Stephanie (Brent) Beach and Carl Mertz; great-grandchildren Brandon and Bryan Lambert, Jessica Langton, Alec and Kaely Langton, Tayvonne Coleman, Eleanor Ormsby, John "Jack" and Olivia Beach, Cameron and Hailey Tveten, Stigen and Leif Barker and Peter and Kelsie Langton. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Memorial Service will be held June 30th at 1:00pm at Gaffney Funeral Home, 1002 S.
