Obituary Leonard Staten, Sr. A good man is gone. Leonard Staten Senior, born June 7, 1934, passed away on January 8, 2016, after a three-week battle following a massive stroke. He was 81 years young. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Raffie; and his son, Daniel. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years, and then another 20 years as a boiler operator at the VA Hospital at American Lake. He is survived by his daughter, Liz Sukeforth (Bob); his two sons, Anthony, and Leonard Staten (Laura); and his three grandchildren, Michael Sukeforth, Michelle Wimer, and Bethany Moffat; all who gave him 7 beautiful great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 11:00am at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel in Tacoma, with burial following at Tahoma National Cemetery next to his beautiful wife Rafaela.
