Obituary Leonard Goldsmith Age 86, died peacefully at home in Tacoma on May 28, 2005. Born in Worcester, MA, he was a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he played clarinet and sax in a big band, and continued to play jazz and classical clarinet the rest of his life. He served as a Captain in the US Army in WWII, installing radar in Latin America. He raised two sons on the East Coast with his wife Marcia while working as an aerospace engineer. He was a loving husband and an involved, caring father who passed on to all his love of music, art, physics, tennis, hiking, conservation and the great outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marcia Skeist Goldsmith; his two sons, Martin Goldsmith, M.D. (Jodie Zaricor) of Tacoma, and Richard Goldsmith (Susanna Tadlock), a filmmaker, of Berkeley, CA; four grandchildren: Toby, Noah, Emma and Jamie; a sister Beatrice Victor and a brother, Albert Goldsmith.
