Obituary Leo E. Fanning Age 95, of Tacoma, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 16, 2011 after a short stay at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born on January 22, 1916 in Pasco, Washington, the second of 4 children. He was a 1934 graduate of Pasco High and then moved to Tacoma to join the C.C.C. He married Pauline O'Farrell on August 24th, 1940 at Holy Rosary Church in Tacoma. Leo and Pauline had 3 daughters and 68 years of wonderful marriage. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline, parents Thomas and Bridget Fanning, and brothers Francis and Tommy. He is survived by his sister Kay Frankowiak, 3 daughters, Jeanne (Bill) Davis of Swansea, Illinois, Marilyn (Mark) Curtis of Olympia, and Kathy (Allan) Berg of Gig Harbor, seven grandchildren, Todd Davis, Michael Berg, Chris Curtis, Sean Curtis, Melissa Curtis Prusinowski, Laura Davis Goode, and Tammy Berg Wood, and 10 great-grandchildren. Leo retired from Trojen Powder Co. in 1977. After that he operated his own business until August, 1990. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband and father. His Irish wit and patient demeanor carried him through life. A Funeral Mass will be held TODAY, September 20th, 11:00 a.m., at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Tacoma. A reception will follow in the church hall. Internment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
