Obituary LAWRENCE F. MITCHELL (aka Larry or Mitch) March 5, 1942 - May 24, 2010. Mitch died suddenly on Monday, May 24 while mowing the lawn. He resided in Tacoma his entire life. In retirement, Mitch enjoyed washing and waxing cars, running errands, working in the yard and watching Seahawks football. He was also a dedicated caregiver to his mother and to his sister Mary during their final years and months. Mitch is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Betty Mitchell, his brothers William, Michael and Robert and sister Mary Rikke. He is survived by his sisters Patricia (Lloyd) Harig of Wyoming, MI and Evelyn (Jack) Gallagher of Tacoma and by his sister-in-law Virginia Mitchell of Tacoma. He is also survived by his special friend, Carol Merkle, and by several nieces and nephews. Rosary and visitation will be held on Friday, May 28th at Gaffney Funeral Home at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 29th at Holy Cross Catholic Church - 5510 N. 44th St. at 1:00 PM.
