Obituary LaVelle Celia (Larsen) Hansen Aug. 30, 1931 - March 12, 2006 LaVelle Hansen was born in Olympia, Washington and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. She studied Humanities in college and then went on to teach special education in the Franklin Pierce School District for eleven years. She continued her career with Centerforce, working with disabled adults. She also worked at Puget Sound Hospital and retired from the Law Enforcement Support Agency (LESA). LaVelle's love of her life was family and cooking. She loved to cook for her husband's co-workers. She shared her gifts of compassion, generosity and kindness with friends, neighbors and the community. She volunteered time and money with Habitat for Humanity. She loved the outdoors, especially family trips to Cannon Beach for the last eight years. LaVelle was preceded in death by her father William Riegelman, son Randy Larsen, husband Leonard Larsen. LaVelle is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, James, who demonstrated the full extent of his love for her in the past few years by overseeing her care. She is also survived by daughters Terri Vernon (John), and Diane Ihlen (Larry), son David A. Larsen (Anna), daughter-in-law Cathy, stepmother Jeanne Riegelman, sister Joann Collins, aunts Margaret Rock and Betty Flani, 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 17, 2006, 12:10 P.M. at St. Leo's Catholic Church. Interment at Mountain View Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage Nursing Home.
