Obituary LARRY KILBY CONNORS 09/23/23 - 08/13/2005 Joined together again with his beloved daughters Marsha McKeough and Cindi Mock Born in Brewster, Washington 09/23/23 to Edward & Ethel Connors. When World War II broke out, Larry joined the U.S. Navy and served in both the Atlantic and Pacific campaigns until the war's end. In 1948, Larry married Mary Surina at Holy Cross Church, where they have been life-long parishioners. In 1955 along with his wife, his brother Leo and his wife Gerldine, they started up Sta-Green Nursery, and for thirty years it stayed a family- owned business, until 1985. In 1989, they purchased a fifth wheeler, and discovered a place called Cocopah Bend RV Resort in Yuma, AZ, equipped with his favorite hobby: a golf course, where they met many, many close friends. For 16 wonderful years they were snow birds. This April they returned early to attend his wife's 70th year reunion from Stadium H.S. In May, Larry was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. He fought a courageous battle and lost. Happy Golfing, Dad! You will be deeply missed. He leaves behind his loving wife and companion of 57 years, Mary; sons, Steve Connors (Maria), Patrick Connors (June); his daughter, Teresa Schindler (Ted); 7 grandchildren, Chris, Tim & Matt Connors (Tacoma); Meghan McKeough (Federal Way), Sam Schindler (Eagle River, AK), and Eddie & Nathan Mock (Puyallup). Rosary will be held at Gaffney's Funeral Home, 1002 S. Yakima Ave., Tacoma, at 4:00 pm, 08/17/05. Funeral services 08/18/05, 11:00 am at Holy Cross Church, 5510 North 44th, Tacoma.
