Obituary Lance M. Greenway August 14, 1947 - November 22, 2006 Lance died unexpectedly in his home on Nov. 22, 2006. Lance was born in Denver, Colorado and attended Englewood High School. After a brief time in the Marine Corp, he attended the Englewood Beauty College and became a licensed hair dresser. Lance moved to Alaska and worked at the Alaska Psychiatric Hospital for nine years. Lance took an interest in photographing Alaska's wildlife and landscapes. His photographs won several prizes including many First Places. Disliking the cold winters of Alaska, Lance tried his hand at restaurant ownership. He started Lancelot's Restaurant in Amarillo, Texas. Lance being the very free spirit he sold the restaurant and moved back north. He lived in Pennsylvania and went back to work in the mental health field. While living in PA, he lived in a 250 year old house that was once a stage coach stop. Lance was a great lover of the outdoors and loved hiking. Wonder lust caught up with him again, he was off to Tacoma. He became an insurance agent and worked for Ozanich Insurance Brokers for the past twelve years. He loved to remodel his home and work in the garden. Lance collected Native American artifacts and studied the Native American Spirituality. Lance was everyone's favorite uncle and will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Mallow Burton Greenway and mother, Laura Maurice Greenway and sister, Sidney Ruth Curran. He is survived by his sister, Linda Alkalouti, his nephews, Brett, Adrian, Collin, Omar, Christopher and Matthew, his nieces, Deanna and Crystal. He will be greatly missed by his special friend, Miriam Kantor. Lance's gift to his family was his free spirit and kindness. Remembrances can be made in Lance's name to the American Heart Association.
