Obituary Kenney Eugene Fengler was born April 27, 1931 in Tacoma Washington to Orrin and Marguerite Fengler. As a young man, Kenney spent most of his summers on Mirror Lake, enjoying family and friends. It was there that he met the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Patricia Marie Clarence. After dating for 4 years, he and Pat were married on February 17, 1951 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Kenney was drafted in the U.S. Military and he and Pat moved to Augusta, Georgia. It is there they welcomed their first child, Kurt Harris in 1952. In 1953 he was stationed overseas in Korea. Pat and Kurt moved back to Tacoma to live with Kenney's mother. In 1955 Kenney had fulfilled his military service, moved home, became a licensed real estate agent and welcomed their second child, Lisa Marie. As the years passed, Kenney and Pat welcomed three more children; Juliet Louise in 1961, Margo Ellen in 1965 and Matthew John in 1969. While continuing his real estate investing, Kenney worked at Canada Dry bottling company as a Production Manager until the doors closed. In 1967, he and Pat purchased a family home on 18 acres in Lakewood, with 11 rental homes. For seven years, owning and managing the properties was his full-time job. In 1973, he and Pat sold their Lakewood home and moved to N.E. Tacoma. At that time Kenney decided to change careers and attend Bates Technical College. At 47, he began his beloved career at Tacoma Public Utilities where he remained until his retirement in 2008 at age 77. Throughout the years Kenney was involved in many activities.
