November 28, 1927 — January 9, 2008

Obituary Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on January 9, 2008 at the age of 80. He went to join his wife of 28+ years, Eleanor, who preceded him in death in 1986. He is survived by sisters Bess and Ro (Woody) and sons Brad (Laura), Kim (Cindy) and Todd (Marcia) as well as grandchildren Mikki, Sean, Josh, Kelli, Kyla, Krista and Kevin and many nieces and nephews. Kaz graduated from Fife High School in 1947. He spent his entire career as a Superintendent for Rushforth Construction for 38+ years before retiring in 1989, where he constructed many buildings in the Greater Puget Sound Area that still stand today. Kaz was one of the best and most respected superintendents in the construction industry during his time. He was a member of Carpenter's Union Local 470 for 57 years. Kaz was a member of Tacoma Buddhist Temple and the Lake Spanaway Men's Club. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, woodworking, gardening and spending time with his family. He touched many lives and he will be missed by many who had the privilege of knowing him. Visitation will be held at Gaffney Funeral Home, 1002 S. Yakima Ave., Tacoma, on Thursday and Friday, January 17 & 18, 2008 from 8:30am to 8:30pm and Saturday, January 19, 2008 from 8:30am to 11:00am. Closed casket Funeral Service will be at Tacoma Buddhist Temple, 1717 S. Fawcett Ave., Tacoma, on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Tacoma Buddhist Temple. Please leave online condolences at www.GaffneyCares.com.
