Obituary Kathleen Marie Andersen 6/4/1930 ~ 9/17/2013 Kathleen was born in Tacoma, WA at St. Joseph Hospital to Charles & Ellen McLaughlin. She was the oldest of three sisters (Mary Ellen & Jeanie). She attended St. Leo's grade school and graduated from St. Leo's High School in 1948. At Seattle University, she met and married the father of her four sons. She began working at the early age of 14 at Puget Sound National Bank during WWII and Rhodes Department Store through high school. She also worked as a receptionist and office manager for many dentists from 1962-1976, including Dr. Glenn, Dr. Dale Murray, Dr. Robert Monaghan and Dr. Allison Polwarth. Kathleen loved hanging out with her "Golden Girls" friends, having long birthday lunch celebrations, laying out in the sun, going to the Hoh River and watching her sons playing various sports from grade school through college and beyond that! She was a great cook and fed everybody who showed up at the house. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her, especially for her tongue-in-cheek humor, funny sayings and loving & easy-going nature. She was the type of person you could go to for advice or for tips on how to cook her tasty meals. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Daniel and Richard; and nephew, Brian Greinke. She is survived by her sons, Thomas and Michael; sisters, Mary Ellen Torgerson and Jeanie Greinke; grandchildren, Ellen and Charles; former daughter-in-law, Dana; three nephews; and three nieces. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:00am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5510 No. 44th St., followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Kathleen's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Holy Cross Food Bank. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery.
