Katherine Helen Sauriol

Obituary Katherine Helen (Dupille) Sauriol Age 85, passed with her family's loving embrace Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in Tacoma. Born in Glendive, Montana in 1927, her family moved to Tacoma in 1942. Katherine graduated from St. Leo's High School, then attended St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing and later Seattle University earning a degree in Nursing Education. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital for 35 years, and several doctors' offices in the Tacoma area before retiring in 1985. Katherine was married to Frederick Dupille from 1951 until he passed in 1991. In 1999 she married Thomas Sauriol who passed in 2005. Katherine was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Parish where she was a Eucharistic minister and instrumental in the Seniors Ministry Program as well as other ministerial committees. She also was a member of The Sera Club for many years. Her love of life was reflected in the many and varied interests for which she had a passion including: her cycling group (The Recyclers), playing bridge, books, poetry (reading and writing), film, theatre, travel and music. Her fullest measure of love was reserved for her family and friends. Survivors include: brother Paul George of Yakima, David and Joni Dupille of Gig Harbor, Mary and Larry Hoffman of Puyallup, Michael and Mindi Katzman Dupille of Seattle, Thomas and Kristine Dupille of Tacoma; grandchildren Rodney Dupille, Mallory Sleeper, Abigale Dupille, Jessica Creso, Rita Cassidy, James Creso, Elizabeth Creso, Margaux Dupille, Natalie Dupille, John Dupille, Alex Dupille and eight great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Franciscan Hospice for their care, advice and assistance. Viewing will be Tuesday, October 23rd from 4-7 PM at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel, 1002 South Yakima Avenue, Tacoma. A Rosary Service will follow at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 24th, 2012, 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Franciscan Hospice.
