Obituary Karl Braverman was born August 29, 1914 in Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1936 and joined the Army after Pearl Harbor as a private and later became an officer. While stationed at Fort Lewis, he met his future wife, Lorraine Sussman. After training troops in the United States, he then served in the China-Burma-India Theater. After the war, Lorraine and Karl settled in Tacoma where they went into the men's clothing business. After retiring, they spent a lot of time traveling. He was a member of Temple Beth El, and an Old-Timer member of Tacoma Elks #174. Survivors include his wife Lorraine, daughter Nancy (Jeffrey) Snyder, sons Mark Braverman, Steve (Lisa) Braverman, grandsons Michael (Jenefer) Snyder of Virginia Beach, David (Mattie) Snyder of Tacoma, Benjamin Braverman of Seattle, three great-grandchildren: Eian, Matthew, and Brayden, sister Sara (Joe) Holtzman of San Diego and brother Dr. Irvin (Sylvia) Braverman of Tulsa OK. Services will be held at Home of Peace Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 29, 2005. Donations may be made to your charity of choice.
