Karen Krilich-Bernett was the oldest child of Paul and Doris Krilich and had two sisters, Stephanie and Janel. She was born and raised in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School.  Karen attended college at the University of Washington and received a degree in Chinese Regional Studies.  After college she worked a variety of jobs before starting at Welfare & Pension Administration Services where she remained for the next 43 years until retirement. As an Accounting Supervisor, she was well regarded by staff and management.

Karen married Harold Bernett on July 24th, 1994. Harold taught Karen to enjoy his passions, camping and fishing. They experienced many outdoor adventures together, traveling from Alaska to Mexico. They were also devoted to their American Eskimo dogs.  Karen's hobbies included cooking, gardening and collecting nutcrackers.  Family meant everything to her.  She cared equally for her Krilich family and her Bernett family and she loved to entertain and host holiday meals. She will be greatly missed, especially at holidays and birthday celebrations.

Gifts in lieu of flowers should be sent to Doctors Without Borders, see on-line form.
