After a life well lived we are sad to announce that Julie Rose McMillan (Renner) passed away on March 21, 2025 in Gig Harbor, Washington at the age of 94. Julie was born November 5th, 1930 in Flasher, North Dakota to John and Rose Renner. She was the 5th of 7 siblings. Julie moved with her family to Tacoma, Washington in 1935, she attended Holy Rosary Catholic School, Sacred Heart Catholic School and St. Leo's Catholic High School. She married Duncan McMillan in 1967, they lived in Tacoma until 1972 when they moved to Gig Harbor and have lived there since. Julie is survived by her husband Duncan, son Gary (Lisa), daughters Kristin (Matt) and Angie (Leon) and her 4 grandchildren, Emma (Austin), Ian, Kate, and Van, and her great grandson Franklin. She is also survived by her brother William and her brother Albert. She was predeceased by her parents John and Rose Renner, her sister Della and her brother's Richard, Leonard, and Fr. Louis Renner S.J. Julie was an avid tennis player, tap dancer, and loved to play the piano. She adored her grandchildren and spent every minute possible with them. Duncan and Julie did quite a bit of traveling and some of their favorites were Maui, Rome, Germany, and visiting family in North Dakota. She and Duncan went to Palm Springs for the winter for the last 17 years and enjoyed time with friends and family. She was a long time volunteer for the Peninsula Fish Food Bank and donated to many charities. She was a devout Catholic, regularly attended mass, and was a member of the visitation guild at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. She loved flowers and growing herbs and was a big advocate for taking 10 deep breaths of fresh air every night. Julie was extremely proud of her family, loved her friends and family so much, and was always grateful for everything she had. She will be missed so much. A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Thursday April 24th, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Gig Harbor, Washington with a reception to follow at the Gig Harbor Yacht Club.
