Judy Carol (Armstrong) Bacon, 75, of Port Orchard, WA passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 13th, 2024, at St Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by her loving children. She was born February 10th, 1949, in El Centro, CA to the late Victor Donald Armstong and Betty Zane (Wormley) Armstrong.
Judy was the only child to Victor and Betty. Judy found joy in playing with her cousins who lived near her in El Centro. She was involved in many activities from a young age - she was a baton performer with the local drill team and was an active member of her church.
She spent all of her earlier years in El Centro, CA until she left for college in 1968. Judy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Azusa Pacific University in 1971. Shortly after graduation Judy moved to Central Oregon where she spent her next 20 years. She had three children while living in Redmond, OR: Shon, Randy, and Stephanie. Judy was a homemaker while she raised her children in Redmond. She enjoyed her family - including her mother-in-law Kathleen Bacon who taught her how to can, sew, and grow incredible vegetable gardens. In the ‘90s Judy and her family relocated to Washington where she lived the rest of her life.
While in Washington Judy worked for the Kent School District for several years. She loved working with children and found the most joy in helping kids with disabilities. Once her own children graduated high school Judy transitioned her work to accounting in the tech industry where she worked for the next 16 years.
Judy continued to garden in her free time. She enjoyed flowers and loved working in the yard. She had vegetable gardens and taught her kids how to grow vegetables. She loved to teach and was a kind and patient woman. As Randy and Stephanie became adults and had children of their own Judy continued to pass on her talents to her daughter-in-law Carrie and her grandchildren.
In retirement, Judy cherished spending her days with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. From teaching the kids to sew, doing puzzles, playing games, or just hanging out for a good chat.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Zane Armstrong, her father Victor Armstrong, and her son Shon Michael. She is survived by her children Randy (Carrie) Bacon and Stephanie Bacon and her grandchildren William Nathanial, Delia Grace, and Kodi Zane.
