Judith Ann Sheridan

October 21, 1944 — November 7, 2021

Born Oct 21, 1944 to Carl and Marion Shows, our mom passed away November 7, 2021.  The Wilson High School graduate, who was born and raised in Tacoma, is preceded in death by her parents, Grandparents Mike and Teresa Scalara of Tacoma and Norval and Zola Shows of New Hebron Mississippi.

Our mom was most proud of two things.  Her Italian heritage and her family.  She spent most of her youth surrounded by a large family which included aunts, uncles and many cousins.  They would spend long summer days at the beach house on Fox Island, attending the Italian picnics in Tacoma and Holidays at her Grandmother’s house where all were welcomed.

As a young mother herself our mom would demonstrate her love and commitment to her family.  While raising 3 kids and working part time jobs to earn extra money she still found time to volunteer in our classrooms, as a Cub Scout Leader, for the Federal Way Soccer Association, many fast pitch organizations, St Vincent de Paul Parish and Federal Way Boys and Girls Club.  Whether mom was getting up early to drive us to school so we didn’t have to take the bus or staying up late to finish a school project we forgot was due, we always came first.

Her devotion to our family only grew stronger after grandchildren started to join the picture. “Nana” was always there for a last minute drop off, a card or phone call for those moments that seemed big at the time, having a snack or treat after a long day, annual events to the pumpkin patch, Easter Egg hunts in the backyard,  family vacations or driving all over town to not miss a Basketball, Football, Soccer, Wrestling, Track and Field, Softball, Cheerleading event or school function.

Although our mom may have appeared to be all work and no play that is not the case.  When she wasn’t working for the United States Bankruptcy Court in Tacoma, for 20 years, she enjoyed camping, square dancing, needlework, ceramics, cooking, entertaining, gardening and traveling, especially to Reno.

The ones left behind; husband Robert Sheridan, brother Mike Shows (sister in law Anna), nephew Anthony Shows, niece Rachel Ebeling, great nephews Cameron Shows, Alex & Austin Ebeling, great niece Zoey Shows, son Jeff Stevenson (wife Mayra), son David Stevenson (wife Cindy), daughter Teresa Allen (husband Phil), stepson Rob Sheridan (wife Heidi), grandchildren Kyle Stevenson (wife Josie) Jacob & Alex Stevenson, Ryker Stevenson (wife Alanna), Bronte Stevenson, Yasmine Carreno, Kaylee & Garrett Allen, Cheyanne & Savannah Sheridan, great grandchildren Devanny Stevenson & Kanaan Braae will miss her and keep her in our hearts forever.

In honor of our mom’s wishes a private ceremony will be held.
