Obituary Judy Lynn Dunn passed away peacefully at Franciscan Hospice surrounded by many family members and friends after a tough battle with cancer, October 5, 2010. She is now with the angels. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Valla Penman, and sister, Marlene House. She is survived by her husband Charlie, children; Scott Burkart and wife Michele, Erick Burkart and wife Chrissy, Amy O'Brien and husband Ken, and her sister, Veda. Judy was the beloved grandmother of 8 grandchildren. Judy was born at Tacoma General Hospital March 23, 1944. She later returned to work there as a patient account representative for 27 years. Her empathy and compassion for the patients she served, and her coworkers were often recognized. When she retired from Multicare in 2008, she was sorely missed. Judy loved flower gardening. She spent many weekend hours with plants at her Tacoma House and summer place near Victor. Judy was also an active member of St. Patrick's Parish. She was an important part of the: Serra Club and Victor Improvement Club. She regularly attended the 5th Avenue and TAG Theatres. Trips to Reno and Wyoming were a big part of her summers. Judy's wonderful sense of humor and love of family, neighbors and friends will be greatly missed. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm, Thursday, October 14, 2010 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am, Friday, October 15, 2010 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1001 N. J St., Tacoma, WA, reception following. In her memory, donations may be made to Franciscan Hospice, 2901 Bridgeport Way W., University Place, WA.
