Joseph (Joey) James Goetz

Born in Tacoma, WA on May 11, 1959

Passed away in Tacoma, WA on October 24, 2023

Schools attended: Sacred Heart School, Gault Jr High, and Lincoln High School all in Tacoma.

He joined the Marines after graduation in 1977.  He served from 1977-1982.  He served in Okinawa, Japan, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and North Africa.

Joey Loved watching football, especially his Seahawks team. Joey always looked forward to his weekly cribbage and euchre games with his nephew Vince.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Florence Goetz, sister Helen Nation and special brother Bernie Goetz.

He is survived by his sons Monjay Cavalier of Lakewood, WA, Mikey Leister of Boise, Idaho and Laccario Cavalier of Surprise, Arizona.  Sisters Rose Sanders of Tacoma, WA, Judy Gilman of East Wenatchee and Henry Goetz, Jr (Ann) of Tacoma, WA.  Joey was from a large family and will be deeply missed by many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends.

Rosary and Family Viewing at 11:00am at Gaffney Funeral Home 1002 South Yakima Ave, followed by Graveside Services at 1pm at New Tacoma Cemetery 9212 Chambers Creek Rd W, Tacoma.

Pallbearers will be Ed Gilman, Nick Gilman, Vince Gilman, Kenny Gilman, Curt Gilman and Mary Rose Gilman.
