Josephine Salatino

January 1, 1970 — November 28, 2005

Obituary JOSEPHINE SALATINO "Together Again" Josephine Teresa Salatino, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2005 at Tacoma General Hospital. Jo was born in Colby, Washington on August 20, 1916. She graduated from West Seattle High School. Jo embraced life to the fullest. She played Bridge weekly and was a volunteer worker at St. Joseph's Hospital for the last twenty-five years. She was also an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Josephine loved cooking, gardening, and sports. She made fantastic meals, especially for the holidays. How we will miss those deserts! She loved working in her yard tending to her flowers. Her knowledge of sports was exceptional. It was fun watching games with her having meaningful discussions about what took place. She still took her daily walks to stay in shape. Jo was without the love of her life for the past four years. We admired her strength, determination, her fight to be independent, and most importantly, her caring and loving attitude toward family and friends. Josephine is survived by her son John of Gig Harbor. Jo was preceded in death by her loving husband Joe of 62 years, and two sons, Robert and Jim. She is also survived by her sister Maureen and brother Jack. Thanks to Tacoma General Hospital Staff for being so helpful in her last days. The family suggests remembrances may be made to St. Patrick's School. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 2, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Inurnment at Calvary Cloisters. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneyfuneralhome.com . Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home 253-572-6003.
