Obituary Josephine Johnsen Josephine Louise (Stempinski) Johnsen was born on January 9, 1922 and passed away on May 28, 2014, she was 92 years old. Josie was born in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Cecelia Stempinski and came to Puyallup as a child. She graduated from Puyallup High School in 1941 and married Carsten P. Johnsen on December 28, 1942. She was a member of the Eagles and loved to go dancing 2 to 3 times a week. She was an accomplished seamstress and her sewing skills were quite extraordinary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carsten Johnsen after 27 years of marriage; her son, Gregory D. Johnsen; her sister, Eleanor Ramsey; and her brother, Edwin Stempinski. She is survived by her daughter, Ronna O'Donnell of Auburn; her sister, Genevieve Hudson of Seattle; her niece, Kelly Hadley (Karl) of Poulsbo; two nephews, James Hudson (Shari) and Robert Hudson (Lisa) both of Seattle; one grand-niece, Christina Hadley of Poulsbo; and three grand-nephews, Jay Hadley of Washington D.C., and Remy and Travis Hudson of Seattle. She was kind, gentle, and generous and will be missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Franciscan Hospice Foundation whose staff provided wonderful assistance and support. A special thank you to Rosario, for her spiritual support. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 1:00pm at All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup.
