Obituary Joseph J. Udovich Joseph Udovich, 91, of Tacoma, Washington, died Friday, February 17, 2006. Joe was the firstborn child of Joseph Udovich and Josephine Sankovich Udovich on March 20, 1914. He grew up and attended Holy Cross School, graduated from Stadium High School in 1934, then followed his father to work at the Tacoma Smelter. During WWII he served in the Army in the Southwest Pacific with the 743rd Coast Artillery Anti-Aircraft Unit. After four years in the service, he returned to work as a millwright at the smelter until his retirement in 1975. Joe married the love of his life, Ann Zillich, in 1948. They built their home in the North End of Tacoma and together enjoyed working in their yard and maintaining their home. Ann preceded Joe in death on June 13, 1992. Joe is survived by his two sisters, Mary Floberg and Anne Polich, both of Tacoma. He is also survived by his son Joe Udovich and his son's extended family, Betty, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Joe was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers Mario and John. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2006, 11:00 am, Calvary Cloisters Chapel. A reception will immediately follow at the Meadow Park Canyon Creek Grill. Please join us in celebrating Joe's wonderful and exceptional life.
