Obituary Joseph "Sonny" John died at home in Fife, WA at the age of 70 on May 1st, 2007. Sonny was born 9/16/1936 in Nisqually, WA. He was a retired landscaper. Sonny enjoyed trout and, salmon fishing, also enjoyed his trips with the Puyallup Tribal Elders luncheons. He is survived by his brothers, Henry (Mary Jo) John of Tacoma, Francis John (Deva) of Tacoma, Andrew John of Fife, his sisters Karen Sharp of Tacoma, Lizabeth Whitford (Jeff) of Fife and Denita Searles of Tacoma. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph John, mother Clara Squally John, brothers and sisters, Morris John, David John, Dennis John Sr., Amy John, Donna John and Kathleen John Warner. The family wishes to thank Puyallup Tribe Elders Services, Puyallup Tribal Health Authority, Good Samaritan Hospice and family and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2007 at 10:00 am at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel Interment at Puyallup Tribal Cemetery; reception will follow at Tribal City Hall.
