Joseph Devlin

Obituary Joseph Robert Devlin Joseph was born in Tacoma, WA on February 2, 1923 to James and Lucy Devlin and passed on December 19, 2012. Joe attended St. Patrick's School, graduated from Bellarmine High School, was a Veteran of WWII, and worked as a Postal Clerk for 40 years. He was introduced to his wife Joann by his father, and they were married at St. Patrick's Church on August 31, 1949. They were married for 63 years and raised five daughters, who were his pride and joy. Joe loved to travel. He was blessed to be able to take his family to California many times to visit family and friends, and several cross country trips, highlighted by an unbelievable six-week road trip across the United States and Canada with a 16 foot travel trailer. During retirement he and Joann continued his love of travel going on cruises and traveling in a mini motorhome. From his baptism until he was called to the Lord, he was an active parishioner at St. Patrick's thoroughly enjoying being an usher at Mass on Sunday mornings. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sister Beth Gallagher; his five daughters, Eileen (John) Wascisin of Bellingham, Colleen (Vince) Cotroneo of Marysville, Carol (Larry) Minnitti, LuCindy (Steve) Matison, and Nancy Sherwood of Tacoma; 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren with two on the way. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
