Obituary Bob Woods John Robert "Bob" Woods was born in Rigby, Idaho on December 28th, 1931 to Mabel and Stanley Woods. Bob attended Idaho State University and graduated with a B.S. in Pharmacology in 1953. After serving as a lab technician in the military during the Korean War, he moved to Tacoma and married Gerrie Baic in 1958. In Tacoma, he began his career as a pharmacist with Harold Meyer. Bob worked for several other companies before opening his own store and pharmacy in 1983. South Tacoma Drug was located on 54th and South Tacoma Way, the site of the old Ludwig Drug Store. He was an avid fisherman and spent many happy hours on the Puget Sound. He retired in 1995 and stayed active volunteering with the Slavonian Hall and gardening. Bob passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8th, 2009. He was predeceased by his brothers: Raymond Woods and Richard "Dick" Woods. He is survived by his wife Gerrie and their three children: Michelle Woods Hood (Ron); John R. Woods, Jr. (Alcena); and Thomas Charles Woods. The family would like to thank the Engine House 14 and the Emergency Department of Saint Joseph's Hospital for their compassionate care. Services will be held on Saturday, October 17th, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints: 1201 South 4th Street, Tacoma.
