John Louis Simek

Obituary John Louis Simek John Simek lived 90 years and died May 19, 2012 at the Franciscan Hospice House, University Place, Washington. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He was educated in aeronautical engineering and served in the Army Air Force in WWII. He met his spouse of 65 years, Ruby, in Spokane and they eventually settled in Richland, WA. He was a hard working, loving father to four surviving children - Christine, Matthew, Michael, and Raymond. Nine grandchildren shared many wonderful moments with their grandfather John. He will be remembered for his devotion to his Catholic faith, his commitment to his spouse and family, and his infectious and endearing smile. John and Ruby have been residents of Gig Harbor for seventeen years. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 am, St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Gig Harbor, WA. Rosary will be at 10:00 AM prior to the Funeral Mass. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Goodwill Industries.
