John Augustus Honan

Obituary John Augustus Honan Oct. 18, 1918 to Oct. 24, 2010 John A. Honan, 92, passed away in his home Sunday, October 24th. Mr. Honan enjoyed a long, successful career in the restaurant business, including President of the Washington State Restaurant Association. John also spent two years as a State Representative. He spent over 30 years on the Board of Directors, including as President, for Calvary Cemetery. What is most notable is Mr. Honan's years of volunteer service, totaling over 4,000 hours at the United States Veterans Hospital in Lakewood, WA. John was one of eleven children; his brother Thomas Honan (Palmyra) resides in Seattle. He is survived by his wife Anne of 58 years and his five children: Barbara Olsen (David), Patricia Honan, John J. Honan (Misty), Mary Wood (Robert), and James Honan (Stephanie). He also has five grandchildren: Spencer, Christine, Kelly, Lani, and Lauren. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, October 28th, 2010 at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 11:00 am at 7112 South 12th Street. Funeral arrangements made by Gaffney Funeral Home.
